Every single day I see a picture of you or I hear your name, and every single day it still hurts. We've all found it in ourselves to smile and laugh again, and we're all healing, but we'll never get over you leaving us like you did. I still go to shows and expect to see you, your friends are still writing songs about you and that heart and that smile you had, and above all, I'm still really upset and uncomfortable with how you left us. I just think of your mom and I think of your brother. I think of your dad's broken heart and I wonder why you, too. I don't know about some of the rest of the friends you left behind, but I know that for me, your death has been a constant reminder of how I need to live my life being more in love and in touch with my friends than ever before.

It's been a month today, since Danny died. Can't forget you've gone. I miss you, sweet boy. ♥

[ music | THE ERGS! POOOOOOL PASSSSSSS. ]

LAST NIGHT WAS THE BEST NIGHT OF MY ENTIRE LIFE.

A reminder of why I need to stay in this city for at least another year, stop fucking up in school and just finish, and live within a mile radius of a minimum of 20 amazing new and old friends.

Dairy Issues [17 May 2008|03:04pm]

Well, just like I thought, Keira has inherited my milk allergy. Weve been giving her half and half (half breastmilk in a bottle, half whole milk) and shes had HORRIBLE gas and diarrhea since we started on her birthday. She never had issues with yogurt or cheese like me, but with regular milk, BLOWOUTS! Shes also been super cranky this week and I think its the gas from the milk making her miserable.

So, today I went and bought her some Lactaid milk to see if that helps. Its rBGH free so that makes me feel better since we only do organic milk, meat, veggies and cheese in this house. I dont want her eating any hormones or pesticides if at all possible. Id like to avoid soy if we can for a few reasons but one of them being, its low in fat and calories and she needs the fat to grow big BRAINZZZZZZ :) The lactaid milk is whole milk just missing the lactose sugar so she will be getting 1 gram of fat per ounce like with regular milk.

I just gave her 4ozs so cross your fingers for no more watery poos :)

WHAT IS THIS.

Max, I know you told me a while ago about a Tatu movie starring Mischa Barton but I thought it was just a weird rumor, I DIDN'T THINK THEY ACTUALLY MADE IT.
My most very favorite of washed up fake lesbian Russian pop singers finally on the silver screen!
Here is the summary from IMDB:

Set against a background of music, internet chat rooms, and hedonistic Moscow nightlife, the story follows friendless American teenager Janie Sawyer who is trying to escape her lonely life in Moscow through her love of music. Janie meets Lana Starkova on a fansite for the pop-band t.A.T.u. Trapped in a provincial Russian town, Lana is desperate to flee her mundane life and the two girls develop an instant connection. The two girls adapt a poem by Lana into a song, and post it on YouTube. t.A.T.u.'s manager catches news of the the song, and contacts the girls in hopes they will allow t.A.T.u. to record the song. Janie and Lana's complex relationship then becomes the catalyst for a series of adventures that will not only test their willingness to submit to others, but also their ideals, aspirations, loyalty, and love for one another.
t.A.T.u. have stated the movie will be very scandalous, and won't deal with the "love and roses" often found in films, but the real scandal and hardships that come along with relationships.

Still don't believe that they made this movie? WATCH THE TRAILER:

http://www.youandithemovie.com/

I am utterly flabbergasted. Who would see this?? BESIDES ME - I'M SO EXCITED THIS MOVIE LOOKS AMAZING!!! (Check out Yulia and Lena actually trying to act near the end. They're so bored with their own existence!)

The weirdest thing of all is that I didn't see the trailer until 10 minutes ago and weirdly enough, the first official screening of the film is TODAY at the Cannes Film Festival at 4pm. What are the odds??

Tatu, I love you forever and always.

EDIT:
Here's their most recent music video (though it was shot over a year ago when Yulia was pregnant) called Beliy Plaschik. It's actually kind of neat, though not as over the top as 'All About Us'. NSFW cuz they both show their boobs in it. Radical!

[ music | the ergs! - a million perfect days ]

I can't wait for tomorrow night. Shitty and amazing and free house show at Rob's down the street. Their basement is a dungeon/death trap with poles sticking out of the walls so he's letting all the bands play in his huge pretty bedroom. No care about holes/heads in walls. Life is unreal. It's going to be so good.

Today I went to get my chest finished and halfway through it we had to stop because my stomach was full of blood dripping from my boobs and Chad had a migraine and it was the worst most insane mess ever and I want to die when I remember how bad it hurt.

So we accepted. We want out and dont want the stress anymore. Its soooooooooooooooooooooo stressful selling a house. Who knows if we'd ever get another offer in this shit ass market
We will hear a final word tomorow. They want to go to closing on June 25th

Havent heard back from the producer on Good Morning America. Not sure if they didnt pick my story or what but I have a call in to the Babytalk producer to see if I can get some feedback.

Hey There [15 May 2008|12:10am]

_stencilry

[adrunkencadence]
Hi stencil fiends! For a long time now I have taken a break from stenciling on clothing simply because I had lost inspiration for doing so, but two weeks ago I had that divine spark inspire a fantastic idea to accentuate a patch I am planning on sewing on to a hoodie I came to poses.

The reason why I am posting is that this particular hoodie has/will have when completed significant meaning to me and I want a crisp, and clean, professional look to the finished product. In the past I simply used regular printer paper and a delicate hand for regular store bought spray paint. After three to five years, most of the shirts I created still look great - however the five year old one has faded greatly. So... what should I use to create that magnificence I'm looking for? Parchment paper? Waxed paper? Mylar - (The plastic sheets sold at most craft stores... I'm actually horrible at cutting this so maybe not?)? But more importantly what sort of paint should I procure? Could I use the spraypaint I have if only I use some high-quality spray adhesive? (The one I have hasn't worked as far as I can tell.)

An example of what I am looking to accomplish, in terms of quality, is like this:

Of course when I am done I will certainly share here! And explain why the hoodie would have such an important meaning to me that I would post a paragraphs worth of questions just to make this project perfect.

dear ames,

i wanted to tell you this earlier this evening when we were talking, but i didnt want to get you upset or anything before your big day. hopefully if you do see this before all of that excitement, it doesn't ruin anything for you.

i'm so glad we met when we did. over a year ago at the stn show in baltimore. i'm so glad we went on ridiculous weekend trips in april and may. i'm SO SO glad we got to go on that trip over the summer. 12 days of nonsense that i wish never would have ended. 12 days i'll definitely never forget, that's for damn sure.

but fuck, man. i'm so sad you're leaving this coast. i mean, i know there are ways for us to visit, it's just sad knowing you're not a $30 shady bus trip away.

with that said (and i totally could have said WAY more...short n sweet though), i'm definitely going to visit you as soon as i can. i definitely don't want to lose touch with you (not that i think we will).

lots of <3...a whole lot of <3,

p.s. all you really need are a few good friends (and maybe an apple?)

HELP SAVE CHICAGO SCENE. [13 May 2009|05:48pm]

yes_im_awesome

CHICAGO DIY SCENE NOW OFFICIALLY AN ENDANGERED SPECIES! COME OUT LET THEM HEAR YOUR VOICE AND SEE THE EMOTION BETWEEN THIS DIY SCENE WE CALL FAMILY. PLEASE COME OUT WITH OPTIMISM, RESPECT, EMOTION, AND A STRONG VOICE.

THIS IS WHY WE WILL BE MEETING AT DAILEY PLAZA ON WENSDAY THE 14TH,2008 AT 8:00 AM SHARP, PLEASE BE ON TIME OR WE MAY NOT GET IN! REPOST THIS!

PLEASE DON'T LET UPTIGHT ASSHOLES WHO ONLY WANT EXTRA POCKET MONEY TO TAKE AWAY ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN OUR LIVES! IT WAS SAID BEFORE AND ILL BE THE ONE TO REPEAT IT YOU GOTTA FIGHT TO UNITE!

The City Council meets in the Council Chamber located on the Second Floor of City Hall, 121 North La Salle St., starting at 10 a.m. on May 14.

The city tries again to legislate Clubland — without any input from the music community

With nary a word of public notice — and with no public hearings seeking input from the Chicago music community — the City Council Committee on License and Consumer Protection was set to meet again today in its rush to push through a new “promoters’ ordinance” initially proposed last year and only delayed at the last minute when music activists caught wind.

Like most laws, this one has a noble goal: to regulate concerts and dance events in Chicago, rooting out illegitimate “underground” promoters operating without proper licensing and therefore possibly endangering music lovers. Like many laws drafted from only one perspective, however, this one could cause serious, perhaps unintended consequences for people who try to promote live music here.

Of course, the city already has myriad laws on the books dictating proper licensing and safety codes for concerts and clubs — not the least of which is the controversial “anti-rave ordinance” passed in the ’90s, which came on top of police, fire, city building and health department oversight and the always acute watch of aldermen and neighborhood groups.

But suddenly, city officials — chief among them committee chair Ald. Eugene Schulter and acting director of the Department of Business Affairs and Licensing Mary Lou Eisenhauer — have an urgent need to create an entirely separate part of the city code tightening the reigns on promoters even more. And this need is so urgent that little effort was made to seek any input from the promoters or the people who work with them.

If approved by the committee and the City Council, the law would require anyone promoting any event drawing more than 100 people to obtain a license — even if they are working with a well-established and already licensed promoter.

Licensees would also have to carry at least $300,000 in commercial liability insurance (even if the venue is insured), and they would have to be at least 21 years old (thereby ruling out enterprising college students, D.I.Y. punk fans and other budding young entrepreneurs from hosting a concert or a legal rave — and if you think that’s not a good idea, you should know that several of the top promoters in Chicago actually started their careers at age 18 or 19).

What all this means is that if, say, a local fanzine wanted to promote a monthly concert featuring the bands in its new issue at a well-established local club of 200 capacity, the editors would have to apply for a promoters’ license and meet all of the requirements and expenses, even if the club already has a license and can boast of a clean record of trouble-free events. The same would hold true of many regular benefit gigs.

As it now stands, the law would only allow venues with “fixed seating” — that is to say, chairs that can’t be removed — to host one-time events by unlicensed promoters like our magazine or benefit in the example above. This requirement rules out the exact sort of clubs that would most benefit from these events, including venues such as the Empty Bottle, Buddy Guy’s Legends and Metro.

One music activist who asked not to be named said that “the net impact of this law is simple: It’s going to make it harder for a lot of people to promote concerts in Chicago, and therefore there’s going to be less music in Chicago.

Do what you can. Re-post this please.
